For true nature lovers and explorers, the Ihlara Valley Flight offers a completely different perspective of Cappadocia. Instead of fairy chimneys, you will fly over a massive, lush green gorge carved by the Melendiz River.
It is important to note that Ihlara Valley is located approximately 75 km (1 hour 15 minutes drive) away from the central hotel areas (Göreme/Uchisar). This makes it the most remote, but also one of the most visually stunning locations to fly.
To preserve the tranquility of this natural wonder, the Civil Aviation Authority allows a maximum of only 5 balloons to take off here daily.

Daily Itinerary
Early Pick-up: Because of the 75 km distance, pick-up times are earlier than other flights (usually around 03:30 – 04:00 AM in summer).
Long Scenic Transfer: Relax in our VIP vehicle for the 75-minute drive to the Aksaray/Ihlara region.
Preparation: Arrive at the launch site near the canyon entrance. Watch the balloons inflate while enjoying light breakfast snacks.
The Flight: Take off at sunrise. The flight lasts approximately 60 minutes. You will drift over the winding river and the dramatic cliff edges.
Celebration: Upon landing, enjoy the traditional champagne toast and receive your flight certificate.
Return Transfer: We drive you back to your hotel, usually arriving back around 09:30 – 10:00 AM.

Important Policies
Child Policy (Strict)
0-5 Years: Children under 6 years old are strictly prohibited from flying for safety reasons.
6-12 Years: There are NO discounts for children. Due to the limited capacity (only 5 balloons), every passenger pays the full adult rate.
Pregnant Women: Not permitted to fly.
Cancellation Policy
Weather Cancellations: If the flight is cancelled by Civil Aviation due to weather in the Ihlara region, you will receive a 100% Full Refund.
Note: Ihlara has a different climate than Göreme. Sometimes Ihlara flies when Göreme is cancelled!
Guest Cancellations:
More than 48 Hours: 100% Refund.
Less than 48 Hours: Non-refundable.
FAQ: Ihlara vs. The Rest
Q: Will I see the Fairy Chimneys? A: No. The Ihlara flight focuses on the Canyon and River. If you want to see the famous mushroom-shaped rocks, you should book the Goreme or Cat Valley flights. This flight is for canyon scenery.
Q: Why is the pickup so early? A: The 75 km drive takes over an hour. To catch the sunrise in the air, we must leave the hotel area very early. We recommend sleeping early the night before!

Welcome to CappadociaTur.com. By booking a tour, hot air balloon flight, or any other service through our website or customer service channels, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.
- Booking and Confirmation
1.1 Reservation: A booking is considered confirmed only when a deposit or full payment has been received and a confirmation email/ticket has been sent to you.
1.2 Information Accuracy: It is the customer’s responsibility to provide accurate information (names, passport numbers for insurance, hotel details, contact info) at the time of booking. CappadociaTur.com is not responsible for issues arising from incorrect information.
- Payment Policy
2.1 Methods: We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard), bank transfers, and cash payments in local currency or major foreign currencies (USD, EUR, GBP).
2.2 Deposit: A security deposit (usually 30-50%) may be required to secure your reservation, especially for Hot Air Balloon flights during peak season.
2.3 Balance: The remaining balance must be paid prior to the tour start time or upon arrival at our office/hotel pick-up, depending on the specific service agreement.
- Cancellation and Refund Policy
Different services have different cancellation rules. By booking, you accept the specific policy for your selected activity.
3.1 Hot Air Balloon Flights
Weather Cancellation: If the Turkish Civil Aviation Authority cancels the flight due to weather conditions, you are entitled to a 100% full refund or a reschedule (subject to availability).
Guest Cancellation:
48 Hours: Full refund.
24 – 48 Hours: 50% penalty.
< 24 Hours / No-Show: No refund (100% penalty).
3.2 Private and Regular Tours
24 Hours: Full refund.
< 24 Hours: No refund.
3.3 Refunds Processing
Refunds are processed back to the original method of payment. Please allow 3-7 business days for bank processing.
- Child Policy
4.1 General Tours: Children aged 0-6 often join daily tours for free (if no separate seat/meal is required). Children 6-12 usually receive a discount.
4.2 Balloon Flights (Strict):
0-6 Years: Not permitted to fly for safety reasons.
6-12 Years: No discount. Full adult price applies to all flight locations (Göreme, Soğanlı, Çat, Ihlara).
- Itinerary Changes & Liabilities
5.1 Alterations: CappadociaTur.com reserves the right to alter itineraries, routes, or departure times due to unforeseen circumstances (weather, road closures, museum renovations). We will always strive to offer an equivalent alternative.
5.2 Third-Party Services: For certain activities (e.g., Balloon Flights), we act as an agent. While we only work with fully licensed and insured operators, we are not liable for the operational decisions of third-party companies.
5.3 Personal Belongings: We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items during tours or transfers.
- Insurance
All our vehicles and tours are insured according to TURSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) regulations.
Hot Air Balloon flights include comprehensive passenger liability insurance provided by the operator.
We highly recommend that all travelers purchase their own personal travel insurance to cover flight cancellations, medical emergencies, or lost luggage.
- Health and Conduct
7.1 Health: Guests must ensure they are medically fit for the activities booked (e.g., hiking in Ihlara Valley). Pregnant women are strictly prohibited from Hot Air Balloon flights.
7.2 Conduct: We reserve the right to refuse service to any guest who behaves in a disorderly, offensive, or dangerous manner. In such cases, no refund will be given.
- Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Nevşehir, Turkey.
